NYC DESIGN WEEK: ICFF X CANOA
ICFF Look Book Lounge: The New Design Habit was a three-day exhibition presented at the Javits Center during the 35th edition of ICFF. Designed for CANOA, the project reimagined the traditional product showcase by shifting focus from finished objects to the creative process behind them. The space brought together designers, brands, and visitors in a setting that encouraged conversation, discovery, and engagement.
Centered around the idea of “The New Design Habit,” the exhibition explored how design practices are formed, challenged, and reshaped over time. It examined the role of habits within the creative process, questioning which established approaches continue to support innovation and which may limit it. Through a series of panel discussions and workshops, the space became a platform for open dialogue, highlighting the importance of transparency, adaptability, and community within a rapidly evolving design landscape.

The 1000 sq ft booth was designed as a home-like, approachable environment, creating a sense of familiarity within a large exhibition context. The space featured a curated selection of nine brands from CANOA’s community, ranging from established names to emerging studios, reflecting a broad spectrum of perspectives and practices. A warm, natural color palette was introduced to balance ICFF’s bright yellow flooring and wayfinding elements, resulting in a cohesive and inviting atmosphere that supported both display and interaction.
