Alma Lopez
Alma Lopez (she/her) is a first-generation Mexican-American designer, artist, and creative director whose work bridges interior architecture, furniture, cultural storytelling, and community building. With more than 16 years of experience, she has helped shape spaces, objects, creative strategies, and experiences across the design industry.
Alma currently serves as Director Of Design Strategy at Insidesource, where she works at the intersection of design, business, and culture across the company’s national and global client portfolio. Her role brings together client strategy, industry relationships, creative partnerships, and innovation, creating new opportunities for collaboration across the architecture and design community, manufacturers, brands, and clients. Through this work, she brings a design-led perspective to how Insidesource engages the market, builds relationships, and considers what’s next for the workplace and the broader design industry.
Throughout her career, she has held creative roles at Studio O+A and Assembly Design Studio and co-founded ADITIONS, an experiential design studio later acquired by CANOA, a tech software platform building tools for interior designers, where she served as Head of Creative. Most recently, she was Creative Director of MG West.
Alongside her industry work, Alma is the founder of Alma Jimenez Lopez Studio and co-founder of OF THREADS, a curatorial platform uplifting Mexican-American artists and designers through exhibitions and cultural exchange. She is also President-Elect of IIDA Northern California.
As the incoming President of IIDA Northern California 2027/2028, Alma is committed to expanding representation, creating meaningful connections, and building a more collaborative and culturally inclusive design industry.
Her work has been featured in Interior Design, The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Fast Company, Dezeen, and Galerie, and has been recognized with a Good Design Award.
